I founded Helix Brass to help musicians design their ideal mouthpiece. By building a database of high-precision 3D scans, I developed an algorithm that maps the geometry of any model on the market using seven key variables. Musicians can adjust these parameters in the mouthpiece builder on our website to design a mouthpiece no one else makes.
The builder runs entirely in the browser. When a customer is happy with a design, it passes the parameters to the online store so the exact shape can be ordered and machined.
As well as custom designs, Helix Brass offers standard models in POM, an engineering polymer that feels and sounds better than traditional plastic mouthpieces.
